Straightening the bridge of the nose with fillers is becoming increasingly popular. The dorsal nasal artery is the main supply branch for the tip of the nose, but also has a direct connection to the branches of the internal carotid artery. Injections in this region are therefore dangerous for two reasons.

The tip of the nose is supplied by several vessels. The A. columella on the front. Branches of the facial artery, also known as the angular artery, running laterally upwards and through the dorsal nasal artery. Treatment with fillers is therefore very risky for previously operated noses.

The superior and inferior labial arteries are most likely located in the submucosa of the lip. Compression from the outside can also lead to localised circulatory disorders, as can direct occlusion. If a thrombus moves further cranially, blindness is even possible.
